Lingering Summer

Thomsons Bay Rottnest

Looking at this glorious image it’s hard to believe we are well into Autumn. Over here in the West we are blessed not only with more of those intense blue skies and warm days that we probably deserve, but also with one of the most pristine coastlines in the world and it’s not a lie to say we are pretty proud of it.

I was recently lucky enough to be able to grab some time off to head over to Rottnest island for some well-deserved R&R — the perfect place to wind down and recharge both physically and mentally. Just being able to walk along the beach and soak up all those peaceful, healing blue tones, or just sit and gaze over the horizon at those saturated colours made me feel like I could just about take on anything.

Rottnest Island Quokka

And if the natural environment is not enough, we have an abundance of these little fellows, the famous Rotto quokkas, who are quite happy to come and say hi and brighten up your day. Just about every celebrity who has graced our shores has managed to get a Quokka Selfie, but although my attempts failed dismally, I can still offer this one, who I reckon is smiling at me!

After returning to the mainland feeling great I thoroughly recommend a good dose of the coastal blues to help rebalance mind and body and help you get back on track to deal with whatever life throws at you.

I’ll leave you with Little Parakeet Bay… I still can’t believe we have a beach like this so close to home!
